PROJECT: PRODUCTION AND MARKETING OF TOMATOES

The province of South Kivu, plagued by insecurity, is a province where there is a shortage of tomatoes on the market and sometimes the quantities available on the market cannot satisfy local demand. Traders have tried to think about the option of importing production from the neighboring country of Rwanda at a high cost but there is still an imbalance between supply and demand for tomatoes on the market.

This is how we thought of an alternative, namely the establishment of a project to purchase land for the production of good quality tomatoes to meet the unmet need of the population and at an affordable price.

This project has the following objectives:

• to contribute to food security and;
• to reduce the youth unemployment rate in the province in general and Bukavu in particular.

The cost of the project is estimated at 850$ (Eight hundred and fifty US dollars)
